“Catechesis is different than an academic course, which seeks to impart knowledge about a given subject. While a catechist certainly teaches, and the student catechized certainly learns, the goal of catechesis is to bring about a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. It is teaching for conversion.”
For the 2021-22 year, Sunday Morning Faith Formation will meet in person. Children are grouped in levels led by catechists and meet in classrooms
- Level 1: Sacramental Readiness (usually grade 1)
- Level 2: Sacrament Preparation (First Penance and First Communion)
- Usually grade 2, but moved to grade 3 if the child has not completed one prior year of instruction either in a Catholic school or Religious Education (Faith Formation) program.
- Older children who have not yet received preparation for sacraments and desire to do so will be prepared in an age appropriate setting
- Level 3/4/5/6 continue with an integrated curriculum using varied catechetical approaches.
Once a month, beginning in October, we will have a FAMILY FAITH FORMATION gathering during usual time (please see the schedule for more information).
