Born on February 8, 1948, in Lorain, OH, Sherry had been a resident of Vermilion for the past 48 years, having moved there from her hometown.
Sherry was a devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Vermilion, where she served as the Pastoral Musician and Director of Liturgy for 35 years. Her love for music extended beyond the church, as she also taught piano lessons for three decades. Sherry was a talented cake decorator, crafting beautiful party and wedding cakes, and she had also shared her time as a Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her sister, Lynda Kozar (Jerry) of Lorain; her brother, John G. DeLaFrance (Roberta) of Lorain; her uncle, Glenn Ziegman (Irene); her nephews, Jared, Matthew and Alan, her nieces, Lisa, Dawn and Jodi; her sister-in-laws, Nancy (Claude) Woods and Sandi (Sal) Tramontana; and several cousins.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland Thomas, in 2016; her daughter, Connie Thomas, in 2016; and her son, Keith Michael Thomas, in 2017.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. Inurnment will take place on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
